JOINING CREATIVITY Project: coming to conclusion
The final conference of the project JOINING CREATIVITY will take place on February 16-17 in Petrozavodsk, Russia. The international creative industries project is implemented by the Karelian Resource Center of NGOs since February 2016 and funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers. The aim of the project is to enhance economic cooperation and trade between the Nordic countries and North-West Russia and contribute to the successful internationalization of creative industry businesses in the Baltic Sea Region.
During the year representatives of creative industries from the North-West Russia had an opportunity to present their activities and say about the problems they face during their work, get acquainted with the experience of their colleagues from the Nordic countries, make contacts and learn something new. The Karelian Resource Center of NGO’s in cooperation with the project partners conducted an analysis of the business opportunities of the creative industries in the North-West Russia and tried to identify the main problems and find possible solutions. The list of companies dealing with creative industries which are ready for international cooperation, as well as the analysis of the results will be published on the project website. Events, which included two round tables in Archangelsk and Reykjavik, study trip to Finland and Sweden, meetings of experts, helped to establish a sustainable network of cooperation between partners, exchange experiences and opinions and share best practices.
The project involves partners with extensive experience in the field of creative industries. Karelian Resource Center of non-governmental organizations is a project manager, takes over responsibility for its implementation. The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Karelia and the Swedish-Karelian business center are the main Karelian partners. International Business Association in St. Petersburg, Institute for Cultural Programs in St. Petersburg and Northern (Arctic) Federal University in Arkhangelsk are participating in the project from Russia. Foreign partners are the Aalto University in Helsinki, the Provincial Board of Västerbotten, Norwegian-Russian Chamber of Commerce (NRCC), the organization Innovation Iceland, Creative Business Cup in Denmark.
Not only the project partners, but also experts and specialists from all over the North-West and Nordic countries will participate at the conference. Reports on the creative industries in the Republic of Karelia, Sweden, Denmark, as well as on the implementation of the project "Joining creativity" will be heard at the plenary session. Then participants will be able to take part in thematic sections devoted to the different areas of the creative industries - culture, modern technology, event tourism and gastronomy. These sections are a great opportunity for Karelian experts to familiarize with the experiences of other cities and countries.
