NDPC INTERNATIONAL FORUM NDPC
International Forum “Culture as a Factor of Growth”, held on 29 November in Saint Petersburg, has been a huge success, bringing together regional policy makers, experts and practitioners from culture and creative industries field. A thorough program and lively discussions on creative tourism, including cultural routes, creative clusters, digital services and creative gastronomy were followed by an absolutely beautiful cultural program at Yusupov Palace on the Moika: arts, music and ballet at Palace’s own theatre. SEED FUNDING CALL LAUNCHED
Swedish Institute has announced a new call for project proposals for the seed funding which is intended for starting new collaborations or expanding existing ones in Sweden, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, and in some cases in Moldova and Georgia. The main applicant must be a Swedish organization. General areas for support are: an ecologically sustainable region; sustainable growth from increased prosperity; challenges to the region. Deadline for applications: 1 February 2017.
PRESENTATIONS AND OUTCOME OF THE 7TH EUSBSR STRATEGY FORUM
The presentations, photos and videos of the 7th Strategy Forum of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region which was held in Stockholm on 8-9 November are available at the Forum website. The Forum attracted 1300 participants representing 42 countries. In parallel to the EUSBSR Strategy Forum, The Northern Dimension Day was held on 7 November envisioning the future of the Northern Dimension in 2030. On 8 November EUSBSR Policy Area Culture coordinators organized a session “How do the cultural and creative sectors encourage cooperation, innovation and inclusion in a culturally diverse BSR?” and The 18th Baltic Development Forum Summit was held. Taking stock of the current state of the Baltic Sea Region, the BDF Summit explored how to find common ground in a changing environment, looking closer at the regional economic affairs, the political climate, and the potential for business.
NORTHERN DIMENSION SENIOR OFFICIALS MEETING
Northern Dimension Senior Officials meeting was held in Reykjavik on 14 December. As stressed by the Swedish representative - the ND collaboration provides confidence on possibilities of meaningful regional co-working in times that are so complicated. This was reiterated by other participants. The meeting program consisted of statements by the Northern Dimension partners, interventions by EU States and observers and presentations by the ND partnerships, participants/regional councils, international finance institutions and ND initiatives.
BALTIC FUNDING PORTAL PUBLISHED
A new tool for searching funding for projects in the Baltic Sea Region has been developed by INTERACT and Swedish Institute. Baltic Funding Portal provides information on more than 300 funding instruments making cooperation possible in the Baltic Sea Region. Check it out here.
NDPC PROJECT PRE-SELECTED FOR SEED FUNDING NDPC's
project proposal "Creativity, Digital Innovation and Cultural Tourism: Synergies, Network and Capacity Building" has been pre-selected by the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Seed Money Facility coordinators and recommended to be developed to a full application within the 2nd step of the application process. The project aims to facilitate development of cultural tourism in the BSR area by using the means accessible to culture and creative workers and stakeholders in terms of their creativity, as well as the new technological developments, and by using the modern digital tools and environment, such as gaming, mobile applications and VR.
