Skills, attitudes and behaviours for public innovation: a new toolkit

Around the world, governments are investing in innovation skills for public servants. But what attitudes, behaviours and mindsets fuel an innovative culture? Nesta has found that methods and tools alone are not enough to transform how governments are run.

In order to build the right conditions for innovation to flourish, the right skills and attitudes that lead to culture change need to be developed. Nesta's new toolkit explores the kinds of behaviours we need to see in order to successfully solve public problems; this includes important but often less championed values like curiosity and empathy, or skills like creative facilitation and systems thinking.
