Creative Business Cup Baltic Sea Region

Creative Business Cup Baltic Sea Region will be organized by the Ministry of Culture of Latvia and the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia from 30 August to 2 September 2018. This is a new initiative bringing together the 10 Baltic Sea region countries, best creative startups and national CBC hosts for a common event motivating networking and experience exchange between creative entrepreneurs. There are three main activities planned at this project/event: CBC BSR bootcamp and experience exchange for creative startups, competition for the CBC BSR national winners and gathering of CBC National Partners from BSR.

Bootcamp & experience exchange:

30/08/18 - 01/09/18

During the first 2 days, participating creative startups will experience intensive pitch training, seminars on business development and networking possibilities to gain better preparation for the CBC global finals which will take place in Copenhagen in November 2018. This will give them invaluable learnings to benefit both their participation in CBC, as well as their future business development. On the third day (1 September), startups will visit several creative enterprises and manufacturing sites in order to have experience exchange. They will also attend the open-air business festival ‘iNOVUSS’ which is focused on innovation, technology, science, current trends and future we need to prepare for and will gather Latvian and international entrepreneurs, start-up community as well as students and scientists to promote business development and growth of the economy.

Competition for the CBC BSR National Winners

During the last day of their visit, 10 startups (the CBC national winners from all 10 BSR countries) will present their innovative ideas for a carefully selected international jury and compete for a money prize and opportunity to be featured during the CBC Global finals in Copenhagen. They will gain the title ‘Best creative entrepreneur in BSR’ and have a shout out during the CBC international finals which will significantly increase their visibility and chances of attracting investment, partners and clients. The international jury will be selected of investors, representatives of CBC and experienced creative entrepreneurs. One seat on the jury panel would also be offered to a representative of the NDPC Steering Committee.

Gathering of CBC National partners from BSR

The aim of this gathering is to bring together all CBC national partners form the BSR in order to discuss the development of the creative industries sector in the region and come up with a plan of closer collaboration in order to promote creative industries and creative entrepreneurship in the region.
