EU National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) and Northern Dimension Partnership on Culture (NDPC) have been awarded a grant from the European Commission for the project Support to the Northern Dimension Partnership on Culture. The project was launched on 1 February 2021 and is expected to last 3 years with a budget of over 1.4 million EUR.
The main purpose of the project is to enhance dialogue and practical cooperation across culture and creativity sectors between actors from Northern Dimension countries. The project looks at strengthening people-to-people contacts and cooperation in the Northern Dimension region, enhancing cross-sectoral innovation and cross-border collaboration between CCI stakeholders. It also aims at identifying and filling the gaps when it comes to funding schemes for cross-border collaboration, offering professional exchange opportunities, providing capacity building schemes and opportunities for policy dialogue and networking.
The project will particularly help to further develop NDPC as an efficient and effective body for business-to-business and people-to-people contacts in the Northern Dimension region and contribute to the NDPC Strategy 2021-2024.
Work package 1 focuses on cross-sectoral cooperation and innovation in the CCI sector and builds on existing partnerships and practices in the region and beyond. This includes cross-sectoral programmes on Arts and Health with The Northern Dimension Partnership in Public Health and Social Well-being and Youth and Climate with Council of the Baltic Sea States and will pilot a scheme for creative innovation and collaboration models in the region.
Work Package 2 aims to improve cross-border people-to-people contacts and cooperation in the region. This will be channelled through core activities such as a targeted mobility scheme, creation of the NDPC Creatives Academy which aims to further develop professional skills of CCI stakeholders, and a seed funding mechanism to support regional collaboration projects.
Work Package 3 focuses on enhancing policy dialogue and knowledge sharing in the region. It aims to build sustainable networks of experts, undertake of research, and produce policy briefs relevant to CCI stakeholders and policy makers in the region.
